How we research, fact-check, and maintain the quality of our content.

Editorial Policy

Last Reviewed: March 20, 2026  |  Updated when our editorial processes, standards, or team structure materially change

NexaLoan publishes educational content for U.S. consumers researching personal loans, debt consolidation, emergency borrowing, lender comparisons, and credit-related borrowing questions. This Editorial Policy explains the standards, processes, and principles that guide every piece of content we publish.

Our Editorial Mission

Our mission is to help readers make more informed borrowing decisions by providing clear, accurate, and unbiased educational content. We believe that understanding loan costs, repayment structures, eligibility factors, and potential risks before applying empowers consumers to avoid costly mistakes.

We do not publish content intended to encourage irresponsible borrowing, pressure readers into applying, or present any single lender as universally best for every borrower profile.

What We Publish

Our content library includes:

  • Educational Guides: In-depth articles explaining loan types, repayment methods, credit score factors, and borrowing strategies
  • Lender Reviews: Factual overviews of lender products based on publicly available terms, features, and eligibility requirements
  • Comparison Pages: Side-by-side comparisons of lender features, rates, fees, and qualification criteria
  • Calculators and Tools: Interactive tools that help readers estimate payments, compare loan terms, and understand amortization
  • Explanatory Articles: Content that breaks down complex financial concepts into plain English

Every piece of content goes through our editorial review process before publication and is subject to ongoing accuracy monitoring.

Source Standards

Accuracy is the foundation of our editorial credibility. We adhere to strict sourcing standards:

Primary Sources (Preferred)

  • Official lender websites, disclosures, and product documentation
  • Federal agency guidance (CFPB, FTC, Federal Reserve, OCC)
  • State regulatory agency publications and licensing databases
  • Original regulatory materials (Truth in Lending Act, ECOA, FCRA)
  • SEC filings and publicly available financial reports

Secondary Sources (When Primary Unavailable)

  • Established financial news outlets (with cross-verification)
  • Academic research published in peer-reviewed journals
  • Industry reports from recognized organizations (e.g., Federal Reserve surveys)

When a page includes comparative statements about rates, fees, funding speed, approval criteria, or availability, we anchor those claims to a verifiable source and include the date the information was verified. If a data point cannot be verified, we either exclude it or clearly label it as an estimate.

Fact-Checking Process

Every article undergoes a multi-step fact-checking process before publication:

  1. Author Research: The writer researches the topic using primary sources and documents all claims with source references
  2. Editorial Review: An editor reviews the draft for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and adherence to our style guide
  3. Source Verification: Key claims — especially rates, fees, eligibility requirements, and regulatory statements — are independently verified against the original source
  4. Final Approval: The Lead Editor (Kevin Maro) reviews and approves the content before publication

For lender-specific content, we verify terms directly from the lender’s official website or disclosure documents. If a lender updates its terms after our publication date, we update our content as soon as the change is identified.

Content Update and Review Cycle

Financial information changes frequently. Our update process includes:

  • Scheduled Reviews: All lender reviews and comparison pages are reviewed at least quarterly to verify that rates, fees, and terms remain current
  • Triggered Updates: Content is updated immediately when we become aware of material changes in lender terms, regulatory requirements, or industry conditions
  • Date Transparency: Every page displays a “Last Reviewed” date so readers know when the information was last verified
  • Version Notes: When material corrections are made, we document the nature of the change (see our Corrections Policy)

Author Qualifications and Accountability

All content published on NexaLoan is written or reviewed by individuals with demonstrated knowledge of consumer finance topics. Our editorial team:

  • Has direct experience researching U.S. consumer lending products, regulations, and industry practices
  • Follows our internal style guide, which mandates plain-language explanations, proper sourcing, and balanced presentation of risks and benefits
  • Is accountable to the Lead Editor, who has final authority over all published content

Author names and credentials are displayed on applicable content pages to support transparency and accountability.

AI-Assisted Content Disclosure

NexaLoan may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with content research, drafting, or data analysis. When AI tools are used:

  • All AI-generated or AI-assisted content is reviewed, fact-checked, and approved by a human editor before publication
  • AI tools are never the sole source of factual claims — all data points are verified against primary sources
  • The final editorial judgment, tone, and accuracy responsibility rests with our human editorial team

We believe in transparency about our processes. AI is a tool that can improve efficiency, but it does not replace human editorial oversight, judgment, or accountability.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial content is produced independently of our advertising and business relationships:

  • Advertising partners and affiliate relationships do not influence which topics we cover, how we rank or compare lenders, or the conclusions we reach in our content
  • Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labeled as such and held to the same accuracy standards as editorial content
  • Our editorial team operates separately from any business development or advertising functions
  • No lender or advertiser has the ability to review, approve, or modify our editorial content before publication

For details on how we handle advertising relationships, see our Advertising Disclosure.

Conflict of Interest Policy

To maintain objectivity and reader trust:

  • Editorial team members must disclose any personal financial relationships with lenders or financial institutions we cover
  • No individual involved in content creation may hold a financial interest that could influence coverage of a specific lender or product
  • If a potential conflict is identified, the affected individual recuses themselves from content decisions related to that entity

Reader Responsibility

While we strive for accuracy, readers should understand that:

  • Loan terms, rates, and availability change frequently and may differ from what is published at the time you read a page
  • Individual eligibility depends on your credit profile, income, debt-to-income ratio, state of residence, and other personal factors
  • NexaLoan content is educational and should not be treated as personalized financial, legal, or tax advice
  • Always verify current terms directly with the lender before making any borrowing decision
